Anka 2008

Price: Around $20

Rating: ★★★★☆

Color: Deep ruby borderline garnet

Nose: Earthy, plums, strawberries, figs, raisins, a little smoke, and oak

Taste: Dry and medium density. Stewed fruit and spice with plum, black and blue berries coming through.  Good acidity with silky mouthfeel. Very long finish.

Summary: Balanced, complex nose, good flavor. Surprising that this wine is not commanding a steeper price point. Delicious with red meats and cheese. A well done red blend.

This red blend consists of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 15% Cabarnet Franc, 7% Carmenere, 4% Syrah, 1% Petit Verdot.

Product of Chile’s Maipo Valley, 100% organically estate grown grapes.
