Color: Deep dark red
Nose: Strawberries and black cherries
Taste: Mouth filling and dense. Rich and jammy. Tannins present but sublime. Lots of interesting things going on in the flavor department. All good. Long on the finish.
Summary: This blend consists of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Carmenere, and this complexity shows on the palate as well balanced fruit flavors.
All the fruit is organically grown in Chile’s Maipo valley.
This wine reminded me of a California Meritage I had a bit back, however the Meritage came in at $45, and it wasn’t as good as the Pargua II.
If you want to show up at a dinner party with a wine that tastes bigger than its price, this will do nicely.
