Antiyal 2008

Antiyal 2008

Price: Around $65

Rating: ★★★★½

Color: Dark Ruby

Nose: Plums, dark chocolate and cherries

Taste: Intense in flavor with complexity on the palate.  Black fruit, cloves, herbal and smoky notes finish off in very long and silky finish. Tannins barely peeking up…just the way I like them.

Summary: So finally I get to try Antiyal. I was not disappointed though I will make the point that I decanted the wine after my initial taste as I thought it needed it. And it made a big difference. I had the pleasure of tasting this wine at home by myself on new year’s eve. That’s a good new year’s eve!

Thanks to Global Vineyard for sending me bottle #1193 of this magnificent wine. It lives up to the hype.

Antiyal is a Chilean organic red blend consisting of 43% Carmenere, 18% Syrah, and 39% Cabernet Sauvignon. Product of Chile’s Maipo Valley.
