Calcu 2008

by Boris at Chilean-Wine.com on November 24, 2010

Price: Around $12

Rating: ★★★½☆

Color: Dark red violet

Nose: Cedar and blackberries

Taste: Black and red fruit abound.  In one sentence, chalky cherries with tender tannins! Yeah.

Summary: More complex in character than its price would indicate, this red blend can very well carry hearty tomato based dishes, pastas and pizza.

The blend consists of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Carmenere, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot. Originates from Chile’s Colchagua valley.
