Taste: Dense with big fruit flavor throughout. Very juicy in mouth. Great flavor, very long silky finish.
Summary: Delicious. This is the best Chilean cabernet I’ve tasted in a while. I didn’t need to even let this wine breathe, it was perfect right after I poured it. Simply excellent. I don’t like the idea of paying $60 buck for a bottle of wine, and thankfully, I didn’t have to. It was a sample sent in by Global Vineyard. Worth every penny.
This wine is a great accompaniment to a big steak but it can pair well with a simple appetizer. I had it with sauteed mushrooms and cheese. Very nice.
Domus Aurea is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc. Product of Chile’s Maipo valley.
