Color: Clear pale yellow
Nose: Pineapple, peach and tropical fruit
Taste: Dense in body with good acidity. Nice minerality which really shines when this wine is serve chilled (not cooled, but chilled). Remove from fridge and place it in the freezer for a good half hour before serving and keep in ice until you’ve squeezed the last drops out of the bottle. The taste is front loaded and so the finish is short.
Summary: This wine is interesting in flavor. It plays well with asian inspired lighter fare. An asian seafood salad or sushi roll make great accompanyment on a hot summer afternoon.
Gryphus is from Chile’s Rapel valley, which is within Chile’s Central Valley Region. It is rated at 13.5 percent alcohol content.
