Price: Around $24
Color: Deep intense ruby
Nose: Blackberries, strawberries and vanilla upfront with a hint violet flowers
Taste: Black fruit throughout and a little red berry in the back. Earthy with black pepper notes. Dry and medium bodied with silky smooth finish.
Summary: This tasty and chewy red is made up of 90% Carmenere and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Complex and elegant. I paired it with a butternut squash risotto, it was superb! This Carmenere was part of the recent Wines of Chile Carmenere tasting. All the Carmeneres were good but this one is in the top 3 out of the 8 tasted as far as my taste buds go.
Product of Chile’s Cochagua valley.
