Origin 2008 Carmenere

April 29, 2010

Price: around $6

Color: Dark ruby red

Nose: Berries

Taste: Medium bodied and balanced.  Smoky with hints of cloves and cinnamon.  Very soft in mouth.  Pleasant.

Summary: I was strolling through Albertson’s and wondered over to the wine section and found this bottle for $6.  This is a private label deal.  The wine is bottled in Chile by Videma SA and imported by Origin Vineyards in California.  The grapes are from Chile’s Central Valley and the wine is rated at 13.5% alcohol.   Not a bad Carmenere at all.
