Panilonco 2007 Reserve Carmenere

by Boris at Chilean-Wine.com on April 3, 2009

Price: $5.00

Color: Dark Red

Nose: Fruity, strawberries and blackberries and some mint if you smell hard and let your imagination really take you there

Taste: Dry and a little spiciness.  Creaminess in body but it leans acidic throwing off the balance.

Summary: This is one of the few times that I found myself agreeing with the winemaker’s description of its product (no not the part about not being balanced).

A good wine with spicy dishes or pasta dishes.  Similar in character to several Chianti wines I’ve had the pleasure of knowing.

Tried this wine for the first time tonight – nice change from the norm.
