Santa Alicia Reserva 2006 Carmenere

October 27, 2009

Price: around $7

Color: Deep Red

Nose: Cherries, blackberries, and plums

Taste: Thin bodied with very subdued tannins.  Balanced and pleasant tasting.

Summary: Passive comes to mind if I had one word to describe this wine. In a good way.  I wish the tannins were not so smooth in this wine.  Give it a little snap. This is a good wine to pair with lighter fare.  Doesn’t have the body and strength to pair against heavy meat dishes.  Pizza and a fresh green salad would go great with this wine.

You can pick it up at World Market.
