Color: Deep Red – Maroon
Nose: I let this sit and open up for a good half hour in the glass before the peppery plum scents hit me.
Taste: A medium body with nuttiness and hints of tobacco. The finish leaned a bit to the bitter side throwing off what would have been a nicely balanced merlot.
Summary: At $6.00, this is a good Merlot. This wine may have benefited from longer aeration, but it’s worth a try if you are looking for a budget Merlot.
