Santa Rita Casa Real 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon

January 26, 2010

Santa Rita Casa RealPrice: around $16

Color: Deep Ruby red

Nose: Blackberries, blackcurrants, and woody/oaky nose

Taste: Silky, with a subtle sweetness that is very nice. Very long and smooth finish.

Summary: A friend of mine that came back from Chile a few weeks brought this wine over to my place to taste.

Even before my taste buds could discern the fruit in my mouth, my head said “balanced”. The characteristic that most defines this wine for me was balance. Not a single thing was out of balance. It all blended so smoothly between my nose and palate. Wow. Really nice Cab! I would have to spend at least $50 USD to get a comparable California cab!…again…Wow.

You can find out where to buy it by visiting PalmBay.com. Santa Rita’s US based distributor.
