Four Chilean Wines make it to Wine Spectator’s Top 100

This week Wine Spectator released their annual list of their Top 100 Wines of the year. This year 4 Chilean wines made the cut.

Placing at number 56, was Concha y Toro with their Marques de Casa Concha 2007. With a score of 91 points and a retail price point of $21.  See my review of it here.
You can buy it here

Placing at number 87 is Veramonte’s Ritual 2008 Pinot Noir.  See my tasting notes on it here.  Wine Spectator gave it 90 points. Retail $20

Placing number 89 is La Viña Agricola’s 2008 Polkura Syrah.  Scoring 91 points and retailing at $23.

And last but not least, is De Martino with their 2007 Reserva Legado Syrah, coming in with 90 points. Retail $15. I haven’t tried this one yet but their Legado Reserva Chardonnay is pretty darn good.

See the pattern? 3 great wines for $21 or less! That’s one of the great promises of Chilean wine. That’s value.
