Veranda 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Carmenere

Price: Around $18

Rating: ★★★★☆

Color: Dark red-purple

Nose: Blackberries and chocolate

Taste: Dense body. Nice oak/toast notes. Juicy black and red fruit flavors. Tannis present but tame. Silky and persistent finish.

Summary: This was a four person tasting. We all really enjoyed this wine. Really smooth, with the carmenere giving this cab a really interesting flavor. This is a big and bold red wine easily matched with red meats but its so silky and easy to drink that it makes a great aperitif with some cheese, crackers, chips, whatever your pantry may have in it.

This red blend is 50% Cabarnet Sauvignon and 50% Carmenere.

Product of Chile’s Colchagua valley.
