Color: Deep cherry red
Nose: Strawberries and tobacco on the nose. Very aromatic.
Taste: Medium bodied with mellow tannins. Little bit of spice and smoke on the palate.
Summary: I’ve had Carmenere wines where the taste was hard to distinguish from a Merlot. Not here, the Carmenere fruit is distinct in presence. This wine would make a great accompaniment to pasta. As a matter of fact I enjoyed it with pizza and it paired very nicely against the cheese and tomato. Very easy to drink.
This wine originates from Chile’s Maipo valley and is rated at 13.5% alcohol. Imported by Domaine Select Wine Estates.
